CircusMASH kickstarted my life as a circus artist back in 2012 and taught me what ‘circus family’ really means. At that point I came to them with a back ground in acting and musical theatre. Our relationship blossomed into lasting one; ever growing and changing.
From a budding aerialist and community cast member to being an assistant aerial coach by 2014, they supported my growth. In an unfortunate turn of events, I became ill and had to withdraw from circus as I underwent several surgeries. Making the best of a bad situation, I threw all my creativity into teaching myself to face paint whilst I was unable to train or perform.
Did I foresee being commissioned purely as a creative makeup artist for CircusMASH’s latest high-end assignment? No! My hard work paid off however and I was brought on board for their latest entertainment endeavour: providing meet & greet and on-stage entertainment for Theo Paphitis’ TPRG* conference and exhibition, which arrived in Birmingham this October.
If you don’t know, Theo Paphitis is a Dragon’s Den dragon and owner of brands Ryman, Boux Avenue, Robert Dyas and London Graphic Centre.
CircusMASH have been there (even if in the background) every step of the way, encouraging my development and waiting to involve me once again wherever and whenever they can!
